Understanding the meaning of Agoureleo Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Chalkidiki.
Agoureleo means Extra Virgin Olive Oil produced from the very first unripened olives.
This local olive variety produces a high-quality extra virgin olive oil with very low acidity and excellent organoleptic characteristics. It is an oil very rich in polyphenols, which reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Harvested during the second half of October, it produces an exceptional early olive oil (Agoureleo), made exclusively from unripe green olives, harvested and pressed daily at low temperatures. It should be noted that twice as many unripe olives are needed to produce a single liter of oil.
This Agoureleo is packaged unfiltered and retains the freshness and peppery flavor of the green olive. It should be eaten raw to fully appreciate its unique character.
Organic raw olive oil from Chalkidiki, produced from the Chalkidiki olive variety, has been designated a PDO product under EU approval and under the name “Agoureleo Chalkidikis”.
